I’m a first-year art teacher in Central Kansas. Not freshly out of college, but freshly certified to teach art (after receiving my art ed. degree 25 years ago!). I’m addicted to art teacher blogs so thought I would try my hand at my own!

Hello!
My name is Lydia Tang and I am an intern at DoSomething.org. If you haven’t heard of us, we are a non-profit group that encourages the youth who are under 25 years of age to take action and volunteer in their communities.
Our most recent campaign, the Make Art. Save Art. , is a collaboration with Hewlett-Packard about the importance of art education. It would be awesome if you could suggest the campaign to your students. The Make Art. Save Art. contest asks youth to create and submit PC wallpapers for a chance to win a grand prize of $5000 and 5 HP Pavilion dv6z laptops for their school art program.
If you have any questions at all, just e-mail our Director of Media & Talent Relations, Megan Anhalt at manhalt@dosomething.org.
Thank you!
Lydia Tang

Hi, I love the quote you have at the top of your blog. I have the same quote hanging in my classroom.

Hi! If you’re a stalker, then I am one too.
I will follow you right back. I wish you could teach my kiddos. I love your approach to learning! – Tonya
